Policy on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-powered technologies
The purpose of this policy is to ensure transparency, responsible scientific practice, and compliance with international publication ethics standards in accordance with the recommendations of COPE, WAME, and the JAMA Network.
Given the growing use by authors of scientific publications of artificial intelligence (AI) and other AI-based technologies, the editorial board supports the transparent use of AI, and has therefore developed a corresponding policy on its use.
- Where AI and AI-powered technologies are used in the work, the author is obliged to provide in their article information about the name of the tool/service used and the reasons for its use. Full responsibility for the content, accuracy, and originality of the materials rests with the authors.
- Materials produced through fully or partially automated text generation without oversight from a human author will not be accepted for consideration.
- AI may not be listed as an author of a manuscript.
- The editorial office reserves the right to check manuscripts for the use of AI. Automated detection tools and expert reviewer assessment may be applied for this purpose.
- The use of AI in the scientific peer review process is strictly prohibited. Reviews must be the product of independent expert evaluation conducted by a human through critical thinking, or the formulation of any other substantive opinion regarding the manuscript.
